The ESA is seeking a person with research and/or professional experience in the natural resource management sector who is highly motivated in advancing the publication of applied ecological research and practice to join the Editorial Board of Ecological Management & Restoration in the role of Deputy Editor-in-Chief. 

We are seeking a Deputy Editor-in-Chief to assist with the management of Ecological Management & Restoration – alongside the Editor-in-Chief – and to develop outreach, engagement and career development opportunities to increase the profile of the Journal, the reach of the Society and advancing the publication of applied ecological research and practice. 

Purpose of the role 

Working with other members of the Ecological Management & Restoration team to promote the aims of the Journal, commission and evaluate submissions, and plan and implement strategies that will enhance its profile, expand its reach, and better serve its community of authors and readers. 

About the Journal 

Ecological Management & Restoration is a peer-reviewed journal that welcomes original contributions from a diverse suite of disciplines and sectors focused broadly on the pragmatic dimensions of the sustainable management of natural resources in Australia, New Zealand and Oceania. The Journal seeks submissions from individuals, groups and organisations committed to advancing the knowledge and practices employed to improve natural resource management, including landholders, First Peoples, practitioners, policy-makers, government officials, researchers, volunteers, students and consultants. Problem-focused research and activities that fuse different knowledge systems through collaboration, whether documenting uni-discipinary, interdisciplinary or transdisciplinary studies and experiences, are particularly sought.
