Join our Board

All positions that are at the end of their term or are becoming vacant due to resignation are spilled prior to the Annual General Meeting late each year. Nominations can be submitted for any of these roles whether Executive or Ordinary Director.

The 2025 ESA Annual General Meeting will be held on Tuesday, 25 November 2025 at 5:30pm ACDT via Zoom.

In 2025, the positions listed below will become available for nomination. Nominations close 11:59pm AEDT, 30 October 2025.

Becoming part of the ESA’s management team offers the opportunity to help drive the strategic direction of Australia’s peak professional body for ecologists and to advocate for your sector or an idea you feel passionate about. All financial members of the ESA are eligible to nominate.

The ESA fosters equality, diversity and inclusion within our organisation. Applicants from diverse backgrounds are encouraged to nominate for positions when they open. 

Specific Board Position Statements are under review. In the meantime, you will find information about Board Director’s responsibility in the By-Laws (Annexure A of the ESA Constitution). If you have any questions about any of the positions or the electoral process, please contact the ESA’s Executive Officer.

It is recommended that before nominating, you:

• are familiar with the Strategic Plan,
• are familiar with the ESA Constitution which outlines the general responsibilities of a Board member and specific responsibilities for each Board position (Annexure A of the Constitution),
• have a quick chat to the Executive Officer
