Our Early Career Ecologist Working Group is recruiting new members to help lead initiatives that assist Early Career Ecologists (ECEs) and their career development into the future. We have identified a series of projects for 2022/23 for the working group to develop, through which members will have the opportunity to network and build additional skills.

1. ECE Working Group Chair
   After four years, it’s time for fresh leadership and perspectives. Could this be you? Our current Chair, Steph Courtney-Jones will co-chair and handover to the new chair or co-chairs in time for the conference.

2. ECE Working Group and Practitioner Engagement Working Group collaboration
   Working with ECE members, developing a joint event that facilitates ECEs gaining relevant skills and experience for working as practitioners.

3. Developing a webinar or webinar series relevant for ECEs (2023)

4. Developing an ECE-focussed issue of the ESA Bulletin (2023)
   Working with the Bulletin team to develop a series of articles and editorials relevant for ECEs.

5. Mentoring program
   Continue ongoing initiatives for the newly developed mentoring program.

6. Annual conference workshop?
   Continue ongoing initiatives at the annual conference including workshop activities and informal/formal networking events.

We are seeking members from a range of ecological careers to help progress these projects and want to hear from a diversity of perspectives, experience and career stages (not just early career). Please circulate to your colleagues.
