The Institute of Australian Geographers Conference is coming up in Canberra (1-3 July, 2015).

The theme of the conference is ‘Exploring Geographic Connections’ which focuses on exploring and strengthening the links between geography and the diverse domains that geographers apply themselves.  The conference will draw attention to the existing and potential contributions made by geographers to the policy sphere and wider governance system through interactions with the business sector, the not for profit sector and others, in a wide range of contexts, from urban to rural. Of particular emphasis at this conference is the focus on exploring cultural connections, and foremost amongst those are the links to Indigenous communities.  In pursuing the theme of geographic connections, the conference also turns the spotlight on the discipline itself, to inquire where Geography is heading from national and international perspectives.

Participants of the conference are also invited to attend the "Informing Australian Land Use Symposium", which will be held at the same venue on 29-30 June 2015. Discounted registration fees are available for delegates who attend both IAG2015 and the Land Use Symposium.
