The 20th Australasian Weeds Conference will be held in Perth on 11-15 September 2016. The venue will be the Pan Pacific Perth Hotel at 207 Adelaide Terrace, Perth. For people wanting to apply for funding to assist with attending the conference, CAWS has three types of travel award, all of which close on 1 March 2016.

These are:

Australasian Weeds Conference Travel Award
This award is Intended to support people currently working with weeds who CAWS consider would most benefit from attending the conference but who would be unlikely to attend for financial reasons without assistance from this award. It is worth $1000 per recipient.

Early Career Weed Scientist Travel Award
Applicants must have, at the date of application, completed their last degree (undergraduate, Master, PhD or other postgraduate degree) within the last five years. Applicants should also have commenced employment in any branch of weed science. The award is open to anyone residing in Australia or New Zealand, but members of Societies affiliated with CAWS may be given preference. It is worth $2000 per recipient.

Student Travel Award
This award is made to undergraduate, Master, PhD or other postgraduate students, or those who have completed their studies in the previous twelve months at the date of application, with some focus on weed science with their studies, and is worth $3000.
