In this issue…

In this bumper issue, our December 2012 and March 2013 editions have been combined in order to feature reports on the many exciting activities run at ESA's annual conference held in Melbourne, December 2012. These include the inaugural gathering of the Urban Ecology Research Chapter, a showcase of ecological fire management and indigenous ecology research, as well as reports from our award-winning student members. 

We also launch two new regular Bulletin features: Research Chapter news, which allows members to follow and report on the activities of ESA's diverse array of themed research networks, and 'Labs in the Limelight', where we feature the activities of lab groups at the forefront of ecological research in Australia. This quarter we feature the work done in Yvonne Buckley's plant ecology lab at the University of Queensland.
