Our journal Austral Ecology is looking for a Social Media Editor! This volunteer role requires 2-3 hours per week on average and would help to promote research published in the journal as well as interesting ecological research being worked on more widely.
Duties include:
- Developing tweets based on new papers released by Austral Ecology and impact statements provided by authors
- Pre-scheduling tweets
- Finding and sharing content relevant to Austral Ecology readers
- Keeping track of promoted papers
- Maintaining a database of relevant handles and hashtags (organisations, authors, etc)
- When new issues are out, preparing tweets for papers that have comics and images
- Working with the Editor-in-Chief of Austral Ecology, the ESA Science Communications Coordinator and other Social Media Editors in developing new strategies for increasing the exposure of Austral Ecology papers in social media.
